Start with the details that change the job.
You will get further with a short, concrete brief than with a trailer size alone. Describe what needs to be held, its required conditions and how often your team will need access. Then connect that need to the dates and the proposed location.
- Address, access hours and a site contact.
- Requested delivery and collection dates, including flexibility.
- Inventory dimensions, approximate weight and holding conditions.
- Parking and power photos, with any known restrictions.
Keep the quote and the operating plan together.
Price, site requirements and responsibility for the equipment belong in one agreed scope. Use the answers below to identify questions before you accept a quote. If your situation changes during the rental, raise it with the responsible contact so the plan and charges can be reviewed.
Your rental questions
What is mobile cold storage?
It is temporary refrigerated storage placed at a site for an agreed use and period. The actual equipment, holding capability, access and power arrangement must fit the job.
What does Coldside need to price a rental?
Start with your address, dates, reason for renting and inventory details. Include required holding conditions, product temperature on arrival, site access and available power. Unknowns can be identified during the discussion.
Do you deliver to my address?
Call with the exact location and dates to confirm delivery and equipment availability. Access, travel and site conditions matter; a general city name is not a delivery confirmation.
How far ahead should I call?
Call once you have a likely need and date range. Earlier planning gives time to review equipment, transport and site requirements. Availability must still be confirmed for your specific dates.
Can you accommodate an urgent request?
Call with the timing and circumstances so availability can be checked. Do not assume immediate delivery, around-the-clock response or a guaranteed replacement arrangement.
How do I choose the right amount of space?
List the containers, racks or boxes, their dimensions and the total weight. Include the peak inventory and room for access. Outside trailer dimensions alone do not establish usable capacity.
Is a refrigerated trailer also a freezer?
Not necessarily. Confirm the operating capability of the proposed unit. Refrigerated holding and frozen holding have different requirements, and one compartment should not be assumed to provide two separate conditions.
Can the equipment cool a warm delivery?
Do not assume so. Explain the load, arrival temperature and cooling requirement separately. Holding already-cold products and cooling a warm load are different tasks that need an equipment assessment.
Can I put pallets or rolling racks inside?
That depends on the unit, door opening, interior layout, weight limits and permitted loading method. Provide dimensions and weights before planning the load around pallets or racks.
What power do I need?
Use the requirements for the actual unit. Share circuit and outlet information, plus the distance from power to the trailer. Confirm compatibility and any approved accessories before delivery.
Can I use a generator?
Only under an arrangement confirmed for the equipment. Ask about compatibility, placement, fuel, operation and responsibility. A generator or fuel service should not be assumed to be included in a rental.
Where can the trailer be parked?
Placement needs permission, suitable access and surface conditions, plus the unit’s required clearances. The provider must also be able to position and collect it. Share photos and known site restrictions.
Who needs to receive the delivery?
Arrange a site contact who can confirm access, placement and the agreed power setup. Follow the handover requirements in the rental scope, including review of instructions and equipment condition.
Can I load inventory as soon as delivery arrives?
Confirm the agreed preparation and readiness procedure first. Arrival time and usable-storage time can differ. Loading should follow the actual equipment instructions and the plan agreed for the job.
Does the quote include delivery and pickup?
Check that both transport legs are identified, along with rental days and other applicable charges. Ask about waiting time, restricted access and changed collection windows before comparing totals.
Is a submitted request a confirmed reservation?
No. A booking requires agreed terms, completion of the stated payment requirements, and confirmation of the equipment and transport. Keep the written confirmation for your site team.
What if I need the equipment longer?
Request an extension before the agreed end date. Continued availability and revised charges need confirmation. A longer rental cannot be assumed, even if the equipment is already at your site.
Who checks the equipment during the rental?
That responsibility must be stated in the rental arrangement. Confirm the operating checks, any monitoring included, the reporting contact and the response process before loading contents.
What happens if the power or refrigeration is interrupted?
Follow the agreed instructions and contact the responsible parties. Response, backup and contents responsibilities must be confirmed in the rental scope; do not assume automatic replacement or contents coverage.
Can I move a loaded trailer?
Do not assume movement is permitted. The starting use is stationary storage. Any relocation, loaded transport or customer towing requires separate agreement and review of the specific requirements.
What should I do before pickup?
Remove the contents, meet the agreed return conditions and keep the collection route clear. Confirm the pickup window, any extension and the handling of final charges or deposits.
